Coleman Research Group is currently seeking a Controller/Finance Director to lead its day-to-day finance operations, manage the monthly close and prepare monthly financial reports. The Controller/Finance Director will participate in studies to improve the firm's operational and financial effectiveness and manage budgeting, forecasting and cost accounting analysis.

Essential Functions:
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the internal accounting controls and processes
  • Monitor daily cash balances and prepare regular cash forecasts
  • Maintain and, as necessary, develop strong internal accounting controls and processes to safeguard company assets, and provide timely and accurate financial reporting of results
  • Maintain adequate documentation of the accounting controls and processes
  • Maintain adequate documentation of the company's accounting policies
  • Manage the monthly close of the accounting system
  • Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget
  • Prepare and distribute on a timely basis monthly profit and loss and working capital statements
  • Prepare financial forecasts and estimates
  • Maintain and improve the company's chart of accounts
  • Directly supervise the accounting staff
  • Manage and coordinate the annual budgeting process
  • Prepare the annual financial statements and coordinate the external audit
  • Ensure that receivables are collected promptly and that payables are paid in a timely manner
  • Assist with the financial management of foreign operations
  • Other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, MBA or CPA a plus
  • 8 - 10 years of total experience (with a minimum of 2 years of experience in senior-level finance or accounting positions)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present effectively verbally and in writing
  • The ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail and process oriented
  • Ability and willingness to "roll-up your sleeves"
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting (including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles/GAAP), budgeting, and cost control principles
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
  • Knowledge of product-line profitability analysis
  • High proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office products
  • Familiarity with accounting systems (general ledger, budgeting and financial reporting software packages)
